Cheaply built. It is garbage. this is terrible, the turntable doesnt turn, there is loose stuff shaking inside the record player, the arm does not trigger the turntable. I had bought a bunch of used records to open on christmas morning and play on the new record player, nothing worked.
but I really didn't need all of that, it was a lot bigger than this model, and the reviews weren't that good. When the person I got the gift for opened it, we put on Rocket Man by Elton John and were amazed on how "live" and crisp it sounded. I wanted something around [.]. This is compact, portable (with the adapter), and sounds pretty damn good. Definitely recommend this model. that had built in speakers. Target had the Crosley one that played records, cds, tapes, AND the radio for [.].
I love it. It's perfect for what I bought it for: simply listening to records around the house. It's compact, cute, and the sound is great.
I found it sounds better in a larger room - not sure why. I have a very large collection of vinyls and bought this portable to make playing them a lot more convenient. Then again, if you haul out your heavy metal or full orchestra recordings, you may have to go back to your components. I do recommend buying extra diamond stylus(es), but if you like to play your records in the kitchen or your bedroom or the family room, I find this little portable a lot of fun - and for the price, quite a bargain. I have a very pricey Sony turntable in my entertainment center, but that limits my listening to the living room. The sound quality is exceptionally good, given that it is a portable and has a smallish amplifier.
If you want something more high end, quality both sound and materials look towards something else, perhaps spend a bit more money. 3) lastly, the materials used in making this product scream CHEAP. The speakers aren't top of the line but it does get pretty loud with descent quality.
However, I do have some complaints; 1) The cover pops off easily from the back and does not have a device to hold it open. I have not used this devices USB connectablity and most likely will not. 2) Also, the cover must be removed to play a 33, since the lid is too small, 45's and 78's will play with the cover closed.
I just recieved the player. As I said it works great for someone basic like myself. If you want something to move vinyl to MP3 look elsewhere.
I'm pleased to have purchased it. As far as I can tell it play's my 33's at the right speed.
